Terrorists kill non-local in J&K’s Shopian, security forces on spot

A migrant worker from Bihar was allegedly killed by terrorists in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. The locals found the body with wounds on the roadside on Friday morning. He was immediately shifted to a nearby district hospital. Indian Army personnel and Jammu and Kashmir Police arrived at the scene to begin an investigation into the killing.
The incident occurred just two days after National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah took the oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
The killing of non-locals by terrorists has been a troubling pattern in the region. In April, two non-local labourers were killed by terrorists.
Earlier this month, an Indian Army soldier was found dead, with bullet injuries on his body, after being kidnapped by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police sources said on Wednesday, October 9.
Two soldiers, belonging to the 161 unit of the Territorial Army, were kidnapped from the forest area in Anantnag during a joint anti-terror operation that was launched on October 8 by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. But, one of them managed to escape, even after suffering two bullet injuries.
