    Description

For sale is your choice of a vintage UNITED TRANSFORMER CORP. or COLLINS RADIO CO. filter reactor,, left behind in the electronics components inventory of my late father.  From their descriptions, they both appear to be the same, except for manufacturer and terminals.  My dad was an active HAM radio operator for over 70 years, and was a radio and other electronics serviceman for much of his life.  He loved radio!!  Dad always kept a generous inventory of components in his inventory, for speedy service calls for customers, ready for walk-in buyers, and handy for his own radio projects.  These are components that he apparently did not get to use, and hopefully you would love to keep one or both on hand in your electronics inventory!   All of Dad's things were kept in a smoke-free environment.
My husband, who actually understands electronics, helped with a bit (actually a lot) of research on these items:
    UNITED TRANSFORMER CORP.
    DESCRIPTION
:  This RARE, vintage Filter Reactor (or Power Inductor) complies with MIL-T-27 specifications, and is designated TF1A04YY.  This Grade 1, Class A, Filter Reactor, No. 678 0389 00, was manufactured by the
    United Transformer Corporation
.  It is a 6.0 henry inductor, featuring convenient 4-point chassis mounting (including mounting hardware) and standoff, wire-wrap terminals, in a rugged, heavy duty, sealed metallic case.  This component was rated at 10 volts, 60 cycles per second, with a 150 MA DC current rating.
    COMPANY HISTORY
    :   Samuel Baraf founded the
    United Transformer Corporation
    in 1932.  From its inception,
    UTC
brought cutting edge technology to the transformer industry, starting with the development of hum-balanced coil structures in 1933.  During WWII,
    UTC
supplied electronic components to the U.S. military.  In 1943,
    UTC
introduced its variable inductor line, followed by the development of standardized low pass, high pass and band pass filters in 1944.  The company was sold to
    TRW
in 1966, and continued operation as a division of
    TRW
    in the 1970's.

Wow, that's about everything!!   I hope that you would love to use or have one or both of these rare items!
(I am also listing quite a few other inductors, reactors, transformers, and many radio electronics components.  Check my other listings.  If you would like other items, put them all in My Cart and request a total.   If the items all fit in the Medium Flat Rate box, the additional ones will ship free of additional shipping!   That's a good deal, especially for transformers, because they are so HEAVY!  See what you think...)
