    Description

You are bidding on a beautiful MMA Metropolitan Museum of Art Leopard head pendant with paperwork. The pendant is adapted from a leopard head made of wood covered with gesso and overlaid with gold. The original was once attached to a leopard skin mantle which was part of Tutankhamun's treasure. The eyes are made of translucent quartz with the details painted on the back, while all the other inlaid features including the cartouche of the king's throne name, Nebkheperura, on the brow, are made of colored glass. The museum's adaptation is cast in brass with silver-plate. The pendant is in VG uncleaned condition. Buyer pays shipping anywhere in the US.
