This is a Vintage Solid 10K Gold & Enamel Sigma Nu Epsilon Tau Tau Fraternity Pin with Eta Gamma Dangle.
Originally founded in 1869 at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) as the Legion of Honor to combat hazing, creating a badge patterned after the White Cross of the French Legion of Honor.
We estimate this item to be 1960s era based on the use of the fraternity symbol, the style, and the Eta Gamma chapter dangle.
The Eta Gamma Chapter was formed at Georgia State University (GSU) in 1959.
The pin shows the expected edge wear; the back is engraved “Hr - 129” and is stamped with the older Balfour maker mark and “10K”.
