This is an original vintage
1960's Yap Island of Micronesia
cultural photo presentation
developed by
Frank Molinski
developed using images taken and collected by him during his time there in the
late 1960's
while he was a member of the
Peace Corps.
They come with a booklet entitled
"A Legendary History of Yap"
published by
Frank Molinski
using
oral tradition legends
communicated personally to him by a local. There is also an outline of a video presentation that appears to have been prepared for a college project which references the images and gives some background of their origin. There are
16 different photos included
.  Many of the images are mounted on board but there are 4 images that are not mounted. The largest images are about 10"X8". There is some light wear to the edges with one mounted photo having some bending and yellowing to the bottom. A few of the unmounted photos have some creases, folds and wrinkles. Some photos have some light scuffs and some areas of minor yellowing. The booklet has 20 numbered pages and has light wear. The rear cover is marked
"Printed in Yap, Good News Press"
. One of the images is marked on the reverse "
A Yapese Dance at St. Mary's School, April 26, 1969
". The video presentation outline is 10 pages long with some folds, creases, wrinkles, small tears on edges and some stains and discoloration.
