This is the MAR Heavy Duty 120 Amp Alternator/Motor Noise Filter For all 6-12-24-36 volt electrical systems.
An excellent noise suppressor ideal for Car, Truck, Marine. This passive alternator noise filter virtually eliminates all in-line noise in CBs, Ham, 2Way (UHF/VHF/800/900 MHz/etc.) Radio, Trunked 2-Way, Loran, video etc. This filter may also be used for other audio applications where alternator noise may be of issue. (stereo systems, CD and DVD players, equalizers and amplifiers, cellular phones)
Features:
The heavy-duty aluminum case is electrically isolated form the internal parts so good shielding practice and cabling can be maintained without creating ground loops.
Three electrical connections are via brass 1/4" studs and nuts to accommodate high current cables and terminals.
The three connectors are: ALTERNATOR (INPUT)   /   BATTERY (OUTPUT)   /   NEUTRAL (COMMON)

About Noise Filters:
The interference or electronic "noise" generated by alternators can render a vehicle or vessel's radio or other electronic equipment virtually useless or annoying. This interference takes the form of a whining pitch in radios, audio sound systems or garbled images "interference lines" on video displays.
These specialized filters can be used singly or in combination to attenuate conducted line noise, either at the affected equipment or at the noise source.  We suggest you install in series with the alternator output lead which feeds the battery.  Neutral lead (and shielded housing) connects to alternator case near engine block.  Install as close to alternator as possible however do not install on the engine itself.
